fuel line size
i'm doing the fuel line for my truck, it's a small chevy probably around 450-500hp 12:1 solid roller 362 that will rev to about 7000rpm. i know -6 AN will be plenty of fuel for what i'm doing but i already have extra -8 AN fittings and hose. if i ran -8 AN all the way up to the bowls would there be any negative effects? i've never known anyone who went too big on the fuel line. what happens? if it'll work i'll just save some money and use what i already have.
thanks

On my drag car I run -8an all the way to the regulator then run -6an to the bowls.

that's what i planned on doing but i have those percy adjust-a-jet blocks in there now and not enough -6 to make it longer, however i have enough -8 left from running the line from the cell to the regulator. what if i run -8 to the regulator then -6 from the regulator to the feed line, then a -8 feed line?
also i was wondering why on some feed lines from Russell Earls Summit etc. they have a straight hardline -8 for the primary bowls then run -6 hose to the secondary, i see because the primaries are in use more for normal driving but would that hurt anything if it was reversed? i found a spare feed line like that but the way my fuel line is set up i would have to have the larger -8 going into my secondaries and then -6 to the primary.

For street driving with a sbc and one carb, IMO either 6 or 8 line, even though mixed and matched, is more then adequate for the fuel supply...

AN 8 for mild and some power but.........AN 10...........if you got some thing .....and i do :) AN6 is small and when you add all the fitting sart cutting the flow down. when all said and done it not going to cost any more to jump up to AN 8 and if your going to used a power adder or big engine + power added your better big then to small
