    Pinks All Out Race

    Teamster

I'll look for your Camaro when I get there Friday morning. I'll be in my '40 Chevy which is all red, cragars and fenderwell headers.

    What et`s

I was wondering what et`s you are running with your 40 ? I`m running best of 11:35 @120 to 11:70 @114 depending what the weather is going to be. I`m expecting it to pretty hot so I`m thinking 11:50 might be the best I`ll get.

I expect to run around 11.40 - 11.50. So, we'll see where that might get me.

    Sounds good

Well it looks like we will be in the same time trials so that would be cool.

    Pinks All Out Races

    Gary

It was great meeting you at Bakersfield...sorry I couldn't give you a better race when we met at the line. My last run yesterday was my best of the weekend...unfortunately my transbrake didn't work so I just had to idle at the line until Rich's armdrop when down...ended up with a 11.87. After that I just left for the day. I heard that the final 32 cars were around 10 - 10.5.

    Take care,

    Ron

    Next year

    Ron,

It was cool that we got to run each other at Pinks. My car got way hot after the arm drop run and I`m sure I couldn`t have hot lapped it even I got picked. We knew the girl driver that made the 32 car field she made it to the final four and got beat by a friend of hers who then got beat by the 29 ford who won the whole thing. Next year it will be at Sonoma so try to make it up here.

When you came over to the pit area where I was at, you might have noticed the '57 Chevy and the '51 Chevy on both sides. These two cars made it into the final 32 as well. The '51 lost in the first round but as I understand the '57 won his first round and lost the second round by .0001. Those guys were excited since they were up at the line with Rich on TV.

Thanks about the Sonoma races...how'd you hear so fast?

    Pinks

    Ron,

After the race we were hanging out in the pits and saw that the Pinks crew were down at about 3/4 track signing autographs. I was thinking what I could have them sign and took my entry form over and had Clay Millican, Kyle Christensen, Willie B,Ken Herring sign it. Them my son and I went up to the starting line to see if anybody else was around. Nothing there so we started back to our motorhome and just as we turned the corner Rich Christensen was coming out of the production trailer and I asked him to sign my entry form . He then told me he was going to be at Sonoma next year.

I'm wondering where they came up with the "ARM DROP" ?
Before the advent of the tree lights, flags were used and when quickly raised off the ground by a person, was the signal to go .

I think the arm drop comes from Street Racing, which is what Pinks was designed to imitate, but on a safe track rather than the streets.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!
