    Jim Lyle's Front Engine Dragster

I just heard from from Jim (48fordnut). He sent me some pictures of his beautiful and now operational B/FD FED.

With (or maybe without) his permission I'd like to show it off a little bit for him.

I'm quite certain that this is what God intended that a dragster look like.

Actually, what it looks like is MORE FUN THAN THE LAW ALLOWS!

I love FED's. Somehow the newer rear engined ones don't seem as cool to me. I know they are better and safer, but FED's are still more exciting, I think.

Brings back memories, in 1966-68 I ran a, then, Junior Fuel dragster. It had a Gordon Collett chassis which was quite long at 150" wheelbase, We eventually ran 7.92 at just over 190 MPH. Racing was fun then.

Me too-back in about 1976 my Brother-in-Law and I ran a FED with a 327 and a 4-71 Blower-it was purely for fun, bracket racing and such, but we did o.k. with it (we were in the high 8's)-

48fordnut that is a very nice Car-I hope you have a bunch of fun with it!

Gordon "Collecting" Collett, now there's a name I haven't heard in awhile.

jerryc that one battery is not enough. going to put a 35 lb wt on the ft. its down for the winter, and a couple of changes, the big one will be going to a 2 wheel wheelie bar. it likes to hike the hind leg like a dog on the single wheel.
