    Gov Cup

We entered our 55 into the Big Bucks ET race this last weekend at Sacramento Raceway. The weather was just perfect and lots of just great cars showed, including some jet guys. Our car ran really great, and we made it into the third round, but lost when Rick lifted a little early. He thought he had a better lead on the other car, and was worried about a breakout. But the other car just got by for the win. But that's ok because it was our first big race and to make it into the top half of the field was really satisfying! Next is the ANRA October meet at Famoso.

Hey congratulations. Sacramento Raceway is a great place to run. Glad you had a good time.

The car is running really great, Dave. We are seeing times of 12.8, and pretty consistant. I did get a 12.55 last month at Famoso, so we have to figure out how that happened. I do think it is capable of low 12's. I am really happy that the car launches straight, and stops without any pulling to the side. Since this is my first purpose built drag car, I am thrilled. The old school 55 style really gets a lot of nice comments, also gratifying.
We had dialed a 12.77 to prevent breakout, and compensate for the evening cooling. So, Ricky could have just left his foot flat, and I think we would have made the final eight. The other guy just snaked him at the end. Beginners luck perhaps, but getting into the top half was way more than I expected!
