Seems to me that this pending new rule would not be hard to implement on a V-8 engined car.

But......as an aircooled VW drag racer it's going to be much tougher to comply. Many times we hit the oil sump drain plate during a hard launch. So there's not enough room to just hang an extra pan or diaper under the engine. Also, we would need to seal it "valve cover to valve cover" and anything below the engine will restrict cooling air flow out the bottom of the engine.

I agree with NHRA for the need to speed up their program due to oil downs, but we have not seen a good solution yet for our air cooled cars.
