    yes it is the same guy, its Al Vanderwoude. he was one of the original pioneers of funny cars, he experimented in a lot of areas others would not touch. chassis, susspension, body's etc. he always had something different than everyone else had. pictured is the car you mention, but it is grren in this photo, and then a photo of Al as you would see him at the track, happy.
