Got my car back yesterday with frshly rebuilt tranny and new tc. TC was supposed to stall 3600-3800 but is at least as tight as the old one at 3200

So drove it from the shop to the strip for some shakedown runs...

Speedo went out half way there. Then in lane through the gates lost half my fuseblock. Rewired to run fuel pump fans lineloc etc off the cigarette lighter circuit. Then just before water box for time trial blew half gallon of tranny fluid out a burst tranny hose. While removing the old hose, i busted the glass fuel filter. Fixed all this and cleaned up the mess. First elim run new tranny and converter and no time trial. Took a stab at a dial in and won... Then won 2nd round... Then won third round and earned the bye in the fourth round. I never get the bye so i was really excited... Roll down to do my run and cant get the car to start, wont turn over. Wont start with jump box, wont start with service truck so I lose because I couldnt stage under my own power on a bye run!!! Push it off the track and find the neg battery clamp had worked loose!

Oh well... Havent gone rounds in a while but that was a sucky way to go out!

So here i am again this morning waiting to make it through the gates. I wonder what will bust today?!?!?!

Its brackets so fast dont matter so much but i was running 12.15-12.18 at 111mph which is at least a tenth and 2mph slower than usual. The air was bad (9000ft) but not that bad...

Low 12's. Nice. I have watched the air change up there on "The Mountain" so quick and so radically, it's a tuning nightmare. I hope you get the bugs out.

Thanks nitro, yeah it can be pretty crazy... One day last year we went from under 7000 in the morning to over 10000 in the afternoon... Gets interesting when things cool off in the evening... Lots of double breakouts... We'll see what happens today.

A drag indeed... Time trials so far so good ran 12.22 back to back... It's really hot and my 60' is way off... As long as it stays consistent I'll be okay... I'll keep yall posted...

4 time trials ranged from 12.216-12.222 which is way more consistent than this car has run this season. Funny thing is this is while changing timing a couple of degrees and dropped my shift point from 6800 to 6600 for two of the runs trying to get some ET back... Nothing seemed to matter.

First elimination I red lit by -.006 and ran 12.220. Next run in pro class won by the other guys red light with a 12.36 all the difference being in the 60' because I wasn't up as hard on the converter.

We got rained out after that and I didn't get any points for my win because the first round was not completed.

So then the wife and I had the joy of changing tires in the rain and I had the joy of driving the beast home thirty miles in the rain (at night) with no wipers (thank goodness for rain-x!)... A defogger would have been nice.

So I get the TC re-stalled this week and I'm going to order a new wiring harness.

Do you think a bozo like me can get this harness replaced in less than 2 hrs a day over five days?

We'll see what happens next time...
