69 flying dutchman down fall
here are a few pictures of the start and end of the 69 charger flying dutchman. al vanderwoude built and drove this car throughout 68 and 69. at the later part of 69 my dad earned his fuel license in it and bought the car from al. and then stripped the paint and campaigned the car as the sour grapes. and in 71 rebodied the same chassis in cuda form as the same sour grapes. ive got several pictures of the dutchman being stripped, that would in todays society of nastalga buffs, they would cringe at the sight of. it was a beautiful paint job to say the least. and during this time my dad also drove for al in the charger 3, the maverick, and the dutchman mustang, until a fire burned the lower portion of his body and decided to quit fuel racing and 2 years later go to alcohol funny car class.Last edited by mooneye777; 10-17-2006 at 11:22 PM.
