    spokane's "AHRA world finals"

just going to update ya'all about our so called "world famous AHRA world finals". gary Omlin ran the track's 1st ever 4 second pass. a 4.98 at 284. you can really tell why no-one "big" i.e john froce type stuff, wants to come here. <although "THE GREEK" is always fun to watch 76 years old still racin top fuel!> they vht the 1st 60 feet and thats it! but i will admit one thing this race had/has over the NHRA big dawg show i always go to, is a more down home friendlyier atmosphere its more like just hanging out with your friends. its so relaxed and no sponsor kiss ass its kinda of treat to see two differnt sides of drag racing. especially when the pros are laid back taking there time workin on the car. theres not 15 of them running around like a chicken with their head cutoff. ok time to get off the soap-box just thought id update ya.....scooter p.s.orville "schmoe" moe got fired and isnt allowed on the property <for those who know>

Went to an IHRA show a couple of years back, you are right about the casual.... Almost get the idea that these guys are still racing cuz they love doing it and not just to schmooz the sponsors. Although I sure do wish I could catch one of those big buck sponsors!!!! First year the local strip here switched to IHRA it was fun to go down there and watch the chebbie guys pop their motors from too big a shot of nitrous!!!!! Believe most of them dropped back to a bit smaller shot after a melt down or two.... Oh well, that's how we all learn!!!

Learning must be difficult for those who already know it all!!!!
