I'm Finally Ready!!
It's been quite a while since I've posted in here. Things have sure changed. Anyway, Hi everyone!! After a very long winter, the car is finally ready to hit the track and make some noise. My website has the rest of the story, but here is a picture I took last weekend after the hood and bumpers went on.
-
Glad to see you around .I told you to let us new englanders know when your ready and Im glad you did .Looks great! When is the debut? Good luck Marco
-
We had rented the track for today, but it got canceled due to rain. We are looking into trying again for next Wednesday. I have to upgrade my license, and do some test and tune, so a Wednesday is the best bet for us. The first official Outlaw 10.5 race is on May 21st.
-
I take it your running at New England? It benn a long time since I been there. My son wanted Pro stocks at Thompson instead. But Drags are still in my blood.
-
Yes, most of our race dates this year will be at New England Dragway with the exception of a date in July when we go to Eddyville, IA.
Thank You for the compliment.
-
My son thinks It s worth checking out again. So will try to.Once agine Best of luck.I hate to keep saying that cause I belive you make your own luck Marco
-
Thanks, maybe we'll run into you and your son sometime this season. Please stop by the trailer and introduce yourself.
-
Nice to see you back. May it run as good as it looks.
-
Thanks Mike. We have a message board linked on the front page of our web site that has been keeping me pretty busy lately.
-
Don't forget to do our video of one of those passes!!!!! How's your son's Camaro, all ready to go?
-
Mike, I just wish I could be there to hear the motor fire. Keep us posted on the progress. Fantastic job. :)
-
I did manage to make one half-throttle full pass last year before the season ended. This was the second run on the car, and we were still checking things out. It was a motor only, no juice pass. I ended up with a 9.32 @ 148.

This was the first time firing it off this season about a month ago.
Click HERE to hear it start-up.
Our next visit to the track I plan on at least using the first stage.

Oooops, I almost forgot. Dave, my son had a choice to make this winter. He could either do more upgrades and get deeper in debt, or sell the car and get out of debt. He choose the latter, and the car now resides in New York with it's new owner. We got some pictures of it the other day. The guy painted it red, and it looks GREAT!
-
Well, there's a lot to be said for being out of debt~!!!!! Anxious to hear how your car runs!
-
Wow! Looking good, I know you gotta be pumped and excited about the upcoming runs. Congrats on a great job!
Pat
-
Thanks Pat. Yes we are all very excited about finally getting the chance to let this thing go.
-
You just HAD to do the John Force half-track burnout, didn't you?
It looks and sounds really good. Great job!
-
hahahaha There is a little story that goes along with that burnout. I had cataracts in both of my eyes and couldn't see any of the gauges. The engine came up a little faster than I had expected. The shift light was set at 6800 and it came on, I backed off of the pedal a little, then a little more, and before I knew it I was further down the track than I had really wanted. If I had to take a guess I'd say the motor was close to 7500 during that. It did make for a good show though. I installed a burnout rev limiting switch the other day, so the motor will go up to about 6000 now.

We made it to the Nostalgia Drags this past weekend to try and get in the two license upgrade runs. Unfortunately on the first pass the transmission decided it couldn't handle the grunt I was giving it and first gear went bye bye. After clicking into second at the 1/8th mile mark, I was able to get into it and finished off the run with a 10.XX @ 154mph. Not too bad for a half track pass. New transmission is already on order, and shoud be ready to go in a couple of weeks. Sorry, no video on that run, you'll have to wait for the next trip.
-
So sorry to hear about your problems.Dont give up just yet summer just arrived.Give it hell. When is your next trip?
-
No problem, the transmission is in New York being repaired and should be back in time for the June 10th race.
-
Just might see you there. If not working,or showing the jeep Best of luck
-
If you do come up, make sure you visit our trailer and introduce yourself. That day they are having the Jet Wars along with us Outlaws so it should be a pretty good show.
-
What do run for trans in your class air shifters,2speed Im use to turning left.
-
The class I am in, Outlaw 10.5, requires that I shift the car myself, but I have an electric shifter if I ever want to play in Top Sportsman or ProMod. It's a 2 speed powerglide.
-
The last time I ran up there was with 1960 ford falcon .428 street El. was just alot of free partes from my dads friends junk yard.Never really gut the hang of it but we had lots of fun. But the trophies were to small for all the time and money.Nice talking agine.
