Tire Info

ANyone have an input on the lowestand narrowest tire size that can fit on a six in wide rim ?

I have a set of 145R15's and am not sure i f they would be safe on a 6 inch wide rim.:eek:

I tried to look it up on Tirerack.com, but they didn't list any 145 tires that I could find.

A 145mm tire is only 5.7" at the widest cross-section. Generally you want a tire to be an inch or two wider in section than the rim.

A 4" rim would probably be the best fit, but I can't say that a 6" is unsafe.

How's that for a non-answer?

So what about a tire size that is low and narrow that would fit on a 6 inch wide rim ?

On a 6" rim 185 would be about it, 195 would be better for fit. Drop to a 60 series and that should give you a lower height. Look at my old deuce on the last page of my gallery, that was a 195/60-15

Well that solves that problem Ah ? How tall is the tire mounted ? I just got mine mounted last weekend and I bought Falken 195/50R-15's 7.67"Wide and 22.6 " High, really look cool, and anm runnin 295/ 60R 17's on the Rear and their 11.6 " Wide. and 30.9 " High.
