whose Chassis does everyone like?

So far no problems on my Brookville '28-'31 frame which I purchased as the "full bracket" option. So far all the TCI parts I have purchased for it have fit OK. Brookville also makes '32 bodies but I do not know about their frames for '32. The '28-'31 is from rectangular tubing and all the brackets seem to be in the right places. I just received the rear coil-overs and the rear panhard bar and that will be the last part of the chassis. There were some deep scratches from welding grinds, but two coats of "Ford Black" Rustoleum Industrial Enamel smoothed that out and I am not worried about this anyway since the '29 will be full fendered.

Hello All! I am a brand new user and I am wondering the same thing. I plan to build my own frame, but would like to buy a set of rails for a 32 Ford to start with. Because of where I live, shipping on an entire frame would be murder. Besides I have the capability to, and want to put it together myself.
I have heard many good things about American Stamping rails.
I tried to look them up on the internet, but every time I contact "American Stamping" they tell me they are not the company that produces these rails.
Does anyone know how to contact them or another manufacturer that may have these components.

I don't think they sell retail, only wholesale. Depending how you get things shipped to you, you may save money by having a dealer here in Seattle be an intermediary.

like Bob said, contact a chassis manufacturer and ask what brand of rails that they use..... if they say the brand that you want, tell them your story about getting stuff shipped to Fairbanks and beyond..... they will probably sell you the rails only.

I was tempted to build the rails myself, but the 32 is a little more complex than say a 28-31 A model. I definitely want to build a Nostalgic rod and the 32 is the rod of choice.

Ditto here for TCI. No problems. My ABone drives just like a dream at any speed. Bought it completed. Now has 12K on it.

Speedway lists '32 Ford repro rails ( Part No. 916-57007) for $696 and shipping from Nebraska may be about the same as from Seattle? They also offer a variety of crossmembers so maybe you could save shipping costs for a piecemeal frame? I find that I get a lot of ideas from the Speedway catalog because their pictures are large while other catalogs are tightly packed and jumbled, but then I often discover better parts and/or lower prices at some other catalog, but as I recall the '32 rails are around $700 wherever you buy them. The only question is the gauge of the steel and the quality of the stampings.

I can vouch for Cornhusker. They did a really nice job with my frame, including fitting it with the Heidts open wheel front end (horns bobbed and rails pinched) and Heidts IRS set-up.

Gary Mussman (owner and builder) was always responsive via email with me. Did only so-so wrt the schedule, but I personally find it hard to fault this as I am in the prototype buisness and only manage so-so on schedules myself.

Ralph, Bob's advice as to purchasing the rails in Washington state is good since your shipping cost needs to be based upon as short of a distance to North Pole as possible.... maybe you could get it on one of the army shipments to the proving grounds!!! Besides, Bob lives in Washington and they need as much help as they can get. Only problem is that everything in Washington is rusty!!

I built a 1945 Ford 1/2 ton P/U about 20 years ago. Did it all original, so I've got some Flathead experience. I'd like to make this one as close to the 50's style rods as possible.

I have an older TCI stage 3 chassis that works just fine. No issues with it other than had to run a remote power brake booster on the passenger side for power brakes as there was not room on the driver side where the master cylinder mounts. Their new chassis have room now.
