If you cut up an ORINGAL that much its no longer ORIGINAL????????
I'd say it's important to note that nowhere does the ad state that the retraction mechanism works, only that it's "...all hydraulic..", and that it "...needs someone with some fab skills to finish..." It appears to me that it's indeed not a piece of junk, it's a big PILE of junk. Just my $0.02.
I want to see the top parked under the deck with the deck closed, otherwise, like Roger said, it's just a big pile of junk that someone failed to execute. Not only do I want to see the top parked, I want to see it parked with a differential, fuel tank. exhaust system and suspension/springs in place.
.
Looks like a high dollar pig in a poke to me.
Just saying, I know where you can find a 73 charger for $14K, that actually runs and drives. Only a couple $K more.
Considering that the majority of the crowd interested in older bodied hot rods are now north of 60 and dying off at whatever pace it seems more and more "stuff" is coming out of the wood work as either bills need to be paid or survivors wish to get rid of pops "junk". This one is tough to see.
Classify this as a member of the "what were you thinking?" club. Between the title, the doors, and maybe some other pieces there's still value there, but nothing close to what it would have been unmodified.
remove all the crap and weld it back.
I may be mistaken, but I think a person would have to be some sort of magician to get that roof to fit inside the trunk.
Never taken a tape measure to a car, but from the rear that roof is at least 4" wider than the bumper area of the body, is it not??
That's why it isn't shown in the nested position, it likely doesn't fit. Hard to justify 12K price so he can recoup all his wasted money on hacking up a good 3 window when someone will need to undo all that abortion....
It's a shame they cut up an original car that way, considering that someone was already making a retractable hidden soft top. I've looked at one and they don't look bad.
Where's Don at now? He should make a deal with this guy and fix it!
The Deuce guy won't even fix it? I'd gladly take it!
