Nice! A great find. You're a rod magnet! P&J Frame? Whose body? More details, pls?
Very very nice Don, I quite like the colour of the frame and grille surround. Will you be changing the colour or can you live with the colour it is ?
Another very nice find! Do you ever find steel abanded coupe bodies in your travels?
Yep, that dead cow colour will go extremely well with the paint colour and eventhe wheels suit the car. I can imagine a very quick turn around on this beauty. Which raises the question, how fast have you had one of your many cars come in and then exit your workshop ? Sorry if I have asked this question before too as I think I'm getting that forgetful disease.
Mark, had a 34 roadsterv last year I drove 400 miles r/t to pickup, got home late so left it on the trailer. Next morning as I'm unloading a guy pulls in and ask if he can look @ it. I say sure. Then he ask's how much as it is? I tell him and he says "Here's my card leave it loaded and bring it down to my storage building @ noon and I'll have the CASH. Owned it less than 18 hrs. Side note : he's bringing it in this winter for me to complete it. Another was just 2 months ago, drove up 200 miles to pickup a 1972 Chevy short bed, on the way home about 50 miles into the trip I stop for fuel, guy comes up and makes me an offer on the truck right there, he's got cash @ his office acrossmthe street, so I dropped it off and came home empty, the trailer that is pockets were full. Man I'm havin fun bein retired.
It definitely sounds like you have the best kind of luck Don!
Given your background you might get a kick out of this...........
A 3M rep was touring the field with the local jobber rep one day. We're standing in the middle of the shop when he says "So and so down the road (another shop) isn't as lucky as you to have a nice down draft booth....." Apparently the look on my face was more expressive than I realized when my jobber rep looked like he wanted to shrink into the floor. I looked at the 3M guy and said something like "Luck has nothing to do with it! It takes a lot of effort to get to where you can afford one, and a lot of effort to make it pay for itself." The guy did show his back peddling ability pretty quickly though...........
I love it Bob, Had an insurance adjuster years ago, when I owned my big collision shop, ask me how come I had all the gravy hi end collision work in the area. Told him cuz when a customer looks @ his car after a 10/20 K repair and say's it doesn't look like it was ever wrecked. I usually responed "It's not supposed too" Word of mouth advertising is priceless.
Yeah, I'm sure the network of good friends and people helps a lot. Word travels fast when deals come up. My Grandfather always said the same thing to us, and my Dad too. Another of their favorite sayings is, "Shit or get off the pot!" I miss hearing grandpa saying that with his wooden back scratcher in his hand as he shook it at ya. Haha
Got the hood, tail lights and deck lid painted.

More preppin on the body and blast it next week, then off to get the guts.
