Sweet Vicky!
That is one beautiful Vicky so what are the plans and, and will this one be a keeper? Yes I know you get the thrill in doing them to your taste and then driving them and if someone offers the right amount,it is moved on,but heck, that is a gorgeous car and absolutely lovely, the flatty, the stance, everything is perfect to me.
Gonna be drivin this 1 to the Tampa Flordia NSRA Nats in October (1300 miles 1 way)
The Flattie runs & runs & runs & runs.
Built to the hilt. 296 cu in with all the good stuff in it.
Syraight pipes and sounds AWESUM.
Got a C-4 behind it goin to a 9" with 3:25 gears.
Runs as good as any SBC I've had.
Did I mention, that it runs real good.
Yep, it won't bother me if I have to fly home from Tampa.
Thats a nice Vicky..:cool:Wouldnt mind havin that in my garage..
With my spare garage I could most likely find some room for that too. I tried to find an 'A' version before my roadster body "appeared"
Heck I think it is time we changed your name from DA34Guy to DA32Guy or you may have to explain what your computer name means to us. With the straight pipes, does the car drone or at a certain speed the exhaust note is acceptable?:D
There is no drone @ any speed with the straight pipes and ya can really hear the 400JR cam
RE: The handle,Got the nickname DA34GUY years ago when I owned 15 33-34 Fords and who knows how many parts, kinda stuck with me into the age of computers,
Started doin 32's after I sold my shop (Hot Rod) a few years ago.
Have built, sold swapped, wheel and dealed over 50 since.
And YES THIS 1 IS 4 SALE.
Fresh car with 1800 miles on it.
Will be more after I DTPOOI for a while.
Whiplash, not sure how you knew it had straight pipes from those pictures?? Maybe my old eyes are getting worse than I thought!
So where'd (area of the country) the Vicky come from, Don? Is it metal or glass? Regardless it looks like a sweet ride for Tampa!
Roger,Don mentioned the straight pipes in the description and I have always wonder how loud cars with no mufflers would be to drive,so now I know a nicely build flatty sounds awesome. Thanks for the explanation too Don on your name and by the sound of it, you have ex-large fuel fuel lines pumping that blood around your body.
Drove my 74 C10 (350) for almost 10 years with straight pipes loved it My 93 has only the converter on it with straight pipes
Yep Whiplash.
Big ole pump.
Sum people look @ this as a hobby
This Hot Rod stuff is a passion to me.
Don't play golf, don't chase women, don't drink, so what else ya gonna do?
Had lead , paint and machine oil in my system since I was big enuf for pops to take me to his shop when I was a kid.
Guess I never grew up--
AND HOPE I DON'T
So Don, what part of the country did you haul the RPU to, and find the Vicky? Steel or glass?
Rog, Took the RPU to northern arkansas, foud the vicky in Ar also.
It's glass, but an early Downs body (mfg'ed when Jim was still alive),
but the body had been sitten around for many years b4 the build.
Even has OG hinges and OG Vicky tilt forward seats.
Sounds like a steel car when ya SLAM the doors!
1 bitchen car 4 sure,
Got the wheels and grille bars painted today.
Off tomorrow to pickup anutter "find"
Then wednesday, new rear tires and shove the headlights down on the frame rails.
Well here it is back together and with 300 more miles on it.
This thing is a BLAST to drive.
Took to a little show yesterday and came home with 3 trophies.
Really cool find! I love the Salt Flats on it as much as the flathead. :toocool:
Nice looking Rod!!!
Very nice Vicky. Love the paintjob and the Salt Flats insignia. Those flat head engines just look kool. Nice find. I'm sure it will be turning heads wherever you go!
