This could be a tough one . . . .
I'm looking for any company out there who sells the rear axle retaining bolts, the T type bolts that go on the end of the nine inch Ford rear end. The four on each side that hold on the brake bracking plate.
What I am looking for is a STAINLESS set so I can polish them.
Any one know of any leads ?
Thanks

I would say you'll have to make them. Get 1/2" bolts, cut off the heads and weld short lengths of SS 1/4" rod across them.
If you going to polish them, aren't you concerned about chipping the pain around them? those T bolts hit the axle tubes when you tighten them, that is the point of the "T" in T bolt. The wings swing over and hit something to keep them from turning.
We generally just use SS hex bolts and hold them with a wrench when tightening the backing plates.

Check this site out; they have lots of stuff for 9" Ford rears, including newT-bolts for a buck apiece. http://www.peytonperformance.com/sto...=HOME:RearEnds
I can't find any SS ones, but you might look at chrome or silver powder coat on a new set of raw steel ones....Last edited by animalracer; 02-27-2004 at 07:48 AM.
No, if you were me, you'd do it just like I did.

I bought the 76 in August , but haven't been able to work on it. When I get a chance I'll post some pictures.
