Unless Rain-X started making wiper kits your comment does not help get a title in the state of VA where they require a minimum of one wiper. As I read the original message the question is how to comply with the State's strict regulation for a 5 inch arm and 7 inch blade on a 7 inch windshield. The math says mount the motor shaft exactly 2.5" above or below the glass for an exact fit, assuming no frame on the glass, and an exact 7" clear space. This is why I suggested talking to Jack, who ran that gauntlet with his '34 not too long ago. Sorry if I mis-read the original problem.

I probably over reacted, but then again, no, I don't have much sense of humor for questions about how to deal with the DMV. When I see a legit question about what seems to be an unworkable situation (how do you comply with the law for a minimum 5" wiper arm & minimum 7" wiper blade when you have a 7" windshield?), and that question is a guy's second post to the forum, then to me an "I like Rain-X" answer is not really very funny, especially coming from a guy who has built many, many very nice rides, and who has a vast knowledge of how things are done. That said, I still say that my answer guiding him to another experienced guy who has recently run the gambit with the VA DMV in a fine chopped '33 highboy is right. What works in AZ, or SD, or CA or anywhere else is likely irrelavent to the guy in VA, where the real question is "...why would they ever pass a law like that??? Does not matter, he's got to find a way to deal with it, or move. Talk to a guy who has experienced the pain before you, IMHO.
