If a Mighty Wiper is too spendy, Why not jut put a manual wiper (25 - 30 bucks) in it and B done with it.
The local DMV inspector won't know the differance.
Then if and when you do drive in the rain ---
GET OUT THE RAIN-X:LOL:

A Mighty Wiper is $125. It works. Their blade and arm - not worth the extra $20. The $39 boat wiper - well they are clunky, plus do have some operational problems. The Mighty Wiper with a Big Al's adjustable wiper arm and blade will work. Yep, they are, along with the wiper motor - a bit pricey - but it's a safety device. You're building a rod - and they are expensive. So, is a couple hundred bucks a lot to pay for personal well being - not if you have just pasted your dream car up against - say an 18 wheeled truck just because you didn't see it with the rain.
(I just hope it isn't my Mighty Wiper equipped car you pile into after I move to VA next year:mad:)
Some folks have used the wiper motors from the rear of a mini van, Chysler or GM. They are usually pretty small units and blades and arms are usually available from most rod shops (at least the ones around my area, anyway).

Maybe I'll wave at you when my wife drags my ass through VA on the way to Florida.:LOL:
Bob - We hope to be somewhere South of NYS by this time next year(it was in the low 50's this morning - and in the Adirondacks/Saranac Lake area last week - frosty windshields:eek:) - so when you travel I-81, wave as you go by the Roanoke-Salem area - at least that's what the plans look like at this moment in time:D
So what was the verdict? Which one did you go with?
I have the same issue and purchased the single speed motor from Speedway. Haven't tackled it yet, but seems to be a decent option and it was less than 50 bucks including the switch..
I think I'm going with the same solution. The arm on the Speedway wiper is 7 1/2 inches but looks like it can be modified.
