Hey Mr Duece, the noise is the main reason I do not want a locker. I have been a rodder all my life and it seems the little lady is getting a tad bit nervous as she ages gracefully, so comfort for her and all out HP for me is the theme for the car. I have seen your pictures here on Club Hotrod several times before, those are nice cars, and they must love you at the Chevrolet dealers, buying 2 430's. I think Monday I will send off to Summit and order the Trutrac. I appreciate what ya'll have had to say.

I have a 3.89:1 Detroit True-Trac is my 3W and I think it is a great combination with my 700R4 and 30 inch rear tires. The True-Trac is like driving with an open rear end, but when it senses spin, the worm gears engage and give you bite with both rear tires. No noise, and no issues that I have noticed. If you are going to use sticky tires and go to the drag strip a lot, a locker would be a better choice. But if you are driving primarily on the street using street tires with just an occasional trip to the strip, a True-Trac would be a good choice.
