    Deuce Steel

Hi there , A new kid on the block and just at the planning stage for a high boy 3 window. I have to be real sure that I'm making the right choices here as I intend to import many of the parts into the UK (My personal boost to the US export market!). But jokes aside it is therefore V important that I get mhy choices right as in addition to the cost of purchase, shipping and import duties don't come cheap. This forum seems the best tool at hand to validate(or otherwise) my options.
OK 1st question - I really like the stance of the custom chassis offered by deuce steel and I thik used in a "Street Rodder" project car a few years back. Does anybody have any experience with this frame and particularly is there an increased risk of "grounding/bottoming out" on our inevitably bumpy and speed humped roads?
Thanks for any advice and keep on this thread as I have quite a lot of similar connundrums lurking.

I have a Deuce Steel frame from Hot Rods and Custom Stuff. I would not hesitate to buy another....the frame workmanship is excellent, the welds are a work of art. Randy will build the frame to your specifications with motor mounts, rear axle brackets, etc.

Regarding the "lowness" of the frame, unless you build a really low car, the bottoming out is not an issue. My goal was a car that had 3" of clearance between the road and the front of the frame. I had trouble getting it that low with normal tires (tyres) and a "normal" Posies front spring. Unless you are running front tires that are less than 26" dia in conjunction with a Durant monoleaf spring, the thing will have more than 3" of clearance (and probably much more).

Note that the D.S. frame is usually built with a longer wheelbase, all of the increase is added in front of the firewall. The body mounting holes lined up perfectly on my frame.

Also, since the frame rail is curved in front of the firewall, the stock type hood sides need a mating curve....Randy sells Rootlieb hood parts that match the frame curve.

When I bought the frame, I looked at the popular sources and was most impressed by the Deuce Steel product.....

Suggest that you email them and ask the the direct question regarding the Jag rear. There should be no problem if the housing mounting is defined.
