I am using a 3/16 medium rubber with bolt and spring combo. The top has support rods ancored at the firewall. I believe this to be fairly common but there might be other answers here. I'll stick with mine regardless though.

I am using the same setup as Kitz with the original style 4 piece hood. There was a previous post on mounting radiators that you should look up. There was some very good info there.

We use the rubber pads like the others have described. Seems to work fine.

I mount mine solid, it has never been a problem. I make this frame work and bolt it to the frame in four places then mount the radiator to it in four place, spreading the load out as for as possible.

This should give you an idea - it's the stainless version from Vintique.
I also had to shim with a made up steel shim, but under the rubber - which is ~1/8 thick. You can also use alignment shimsDave W
