348/409 in a Deuce?
I have a friend who's building a car & wants to run the 348 he has in his garage. Also has a 409 but it's earmarked for the bubble top.
Here's my question.
Will a 348 or the 409 fit & still run hood sides? I've looked that the new July 08 Street Rodder mag (page 158) & there one in there but no side panels.
Will it clear & anyone have pics?
Headers? What will work & miss the frame?
He needs pics.

i dont know about 32 , but i had a 409/476 in a 33 with hoodsides.
sanderson makes real nice headers for a 348/409.
i will say from my thoughts , yes it will clear
mine was on the cover and featured in rod and custom nov 04 issue for photos he needs

IMHO if your going to put a 348/409 in a Deuce, I would not cover it up with hood sides.. They are a bit wide so I don't think sides will work w/o ressesses in the hood sides.. Nitrofc who used to be on here had a '32 with a 348 in it, no hood sides and IIRC stock manifolds. he was banned so I can't find a pic

Hey Deuce- I've seen that green one before. GNRS 08?
Good to know on the hood sides. He's pretty fixed on running them.

This 5 window from England has a 409 fitted. It looks like stock hood sides don't fit without a blister panel. Probably to clear exhaust manifold.
