There should be only about 1/4" to 3/8" gap between the tank and the body. I hope they didn't put the floor in the body too low. If they did I don't know how you would fix it without cutting out the floor and reinstalling it.32 highboy roadster with 401 Buick, 4 speed and V-8 Quick Change
