Unless you are flanging the ends and using an insert pipe, the V-band clamps are a bit of overkill. I use the wide flat band clamps. They're about $8.00 ea. vs. $40.00 for the V-band. My NAPA guy keeps them in stock in various sizes. No problems with them and a heck of a lot cheaper!!!
Yes Dave, the ends will be flanged which is why I am going to use the V-band. I'm well aware of the cost factor. On E-bay with the sealing flanges they are $70.00 not counting shipping and at Summit or Jegs they are $44 not counting shipping. Now the issue is trying to locate 4 polished SS or billet exhaust hangers...no luck so far!

One thing that I found out building my roadsters system is that it grows in lenght by 1/4" to 3/8" from stone cold to highway hot. So my mounting brackets are designed to hang the system and also allow it to float front to back.
I also looked for nice pre-made mounting brackets that would adapt and never found anything that would work without extensive modifications.
Pretty much the same story with any parts you buy, seams everything requires modifications, or at least a minor tune up to improve the fitment and appearance!!!!!:LOL: :LOL: :LOL:Quote:
