Hiboy becomes the "Deuce of Spades"

It's official,

Hiboy's metamorphosis into the "Deuce of Spades" is complete.

Including, new paint job (was charcoal primer now low gloss jet black), new hair pin finish (were red, now bare metal), new firewall color (was beige, now black), new ignition coil (was ugly, now has a good looking finned cover and is mounted on the firewall) new tires (had modern radials now has old school bias plys) and a new custom horn button with the "Spade" in it (I will post a photo of that later today - I made it myself and it came out real sharp looking).

For the movie, the Deuce of spades will have two looks: In the 2007 scenes, it is seen running without a hood and with a windshield. For the 1955 flashback scene it is seen with a full hood and without a windshield.

No longer shall Hiboy be called Hiboy. He has now become the Deuce of Spades. When the movie comes out, and you finally get to watch it, remember that you guys witnessed it happen, right here.

I am posting a few photos below. The last photo was taken at a recent cast meeting, you can see Eric Callero (who plays 1955 hotrod hero "Johnny Callaway" in the movie) at the wheel of the deuce and Robert Messler ("Art", Johnny's best friend).

Just a thought......one of my favorites was a small spread hand of cards painted on the cowl just above the hair pins (usually where the mad woodpecker or moon eyes was placed on some cars)

In this case the bottom card would be an 8 (siginfying a V8), second card would be a 3 or 4 (depending on a 3 or 4 speed transmission) then 3 deuces (tri-power) with the 2 of spades being the top card..

The bias plies helped the look of your car 100%. I'm guessing Firestone Deluxe Champion 560-15s up front and 820-15's in the rear? PS.. why is your coil mounted on a 45 degree angle instead of vertically?

Firestones, Joey almost nailed it:

FRONT: 5.60-15
REAR: 7.50-16

Yep, I went for a 15 front / 16 rear combo.

Good choice. That's what I suggested to you 3-4 months ago.

Compare the pics of your car now to when it had radials and I bet it makes ya wonder why you waited this long to switch...I know that's how i felt... i don't even like looking at the old pics of my car with the fatty radials on it anymore. The 16's in the rear look good... I almost went that route, thinking now maybe I should have. I already had to buy yet another pair of front wheels though, as my current ones aren't going to clear the finned Buick drums of the So Cal brake kit that just arrived on my doorstep. This shiny stuff can get expensive! :D

At a show couple of weeks ago I saw a car named "The Other Deuce". It was a 32 Chevy and had graphic of cards spread out and was 5 deuces. The 5th was blue and had a bow tie painted on it. Pretty cool.

Ya know, we've been due - or need - for an American Graffiti movie for quite a while.

I find it interesting that a French girl not long in this country is the one producing and filming the movie.

From what I've seen so far, this movie may be it....
