good question , im doing the same now and that question hit my mind im gonna go into the grill shell down low maybe 2 in from bottom , you can hide the wire a little better externally meaning , guys post pics if you have emnothin like hearing those lake pipes roar!!!!

Here's how I did mine...just run the wires under the corner of the shell... no ugly holes at all in the shell itself.
