My all original steel, full fendered 32 roadster weighs 2240 lbs. :D
SBC, aluminum heads, intake, water pump, driveshaft amd center section of a 9 inch Ford rear. 400 Turbo transmission.
Full bumpers and running boards also.

My 32 roadster highboy with a Show-Me Rod and Custom body with a chassis by Pete and Jakes with the aluminum I Beam axle, and small block chevy weighted in at 2340 with a near 50/50 weight distribution between the front and rear.
This an old thread from last June and I missed it because I was busy with other stuff, but I have been wondering for a long time what my '29 full fendered fiberglass Model-A will weigh? I really felt weight conscious when I mounted the beautiful stainless bumpers which I believe are heavier than the bumpers shown by Deuce above. The Model-A books say the '29 roadster weighed 2265 pounds stock and the tables say a SBC with an aluminum intake weighs about 535 pounds but I do not know the weight of my 700R4 versus the puny three speed box of the Model-A and while the Model-A block might be as light as 350 pounds, that enormous flywheel/clutch setup has to weigh a lot. As usual I am asking a Model-A question in a Deuce thread but I am guessing the final weight will be in the 2400 pound range? I got the stainless A bumpers for looks and protection of the 'glass fenders but boy they are at least 50 pounds each! Does anybody have an actual weight for a '29 roadster with a SBC drive line? Probably the weight is close to that of the beautiful steel '32 Deuce shows above? I have the smaller 8" rear but the difference between that and the 9" is only about 50 pounds, right?

My guess is your trans weighs about 150 Lbs. I have a 400TH that has been lightened and it weighed 147 on a shipping crate. I would guess the trans has been lightened about as much as the crate weighs.
Let me update that. I just checked & the shipping crate was 27 lbs. so the trans actual weight is 120lbs. And according to Rossler the 210 is approx. 9 lbs. lighter than a stock 400th. So, a stock 400 th must be about 130 lbs. +/-. I don't know how that compares to a 700R4, but I would think they are close to the same.
Oh , 1 more update. That weight is with no fluid & no converter.
Thanks ProZ, I guess I will have to "weigh and see" what it is but the all steel full fendered Deuce above sort of gives me a good estimate so I hope it lighter than 2500 pounds.

heavier frames and roll bars will weigh up. I built my bucket way to heavy but it sits now at 2800 lbs(nova front clip susp)
I give it all the 500 has at the line till the front tires push and there is hardly any frame movement.
My 32 with Small Block and R700 trans, 8 inch ford rear scaled out at 2350

Rich King, Is that with fenders and bumpers? Sadly I think the Model A bumpers are much heavier than the nice '32 bumpers. I plan to have my roadster weighed at a landfill site which weighs a truck with load on entering and reweighs the truck upon exit, but I suspect that scale is pretty rough. I have used that scale to dispose of up to 500 pounds of brush and tree stumps but it looks like a pretty coarse scale.

Don... Its a Hiboy. with no bumpers just spreader bars front and rear.
All of the scales in my area that are at landfills have to the certified .. by the state for being correct. I have been told that federal regulations require it. IF you have a circle track racer friend and he is sucessful, he will have a set a four portable scales to weigh the car. They go under each wheel and tell you how much weight is on each wheel and the total weight. My roadster is 51/49 front to rear and 20 pounds heavier on the right side and almost 15 pounds heavier on the right rear.Quote:

It is a name hung on my place by a few friends years ago. They said I had DEUCE on the brain and too much Deuce stuff. I have the Deuce license tag ( and have for 30 plus years ), the little dogs registered AKC name is " Little Steel Deuce Roadster " and I also have a Harley Davidson " Deuce " model ... the FXSTDI.
