I do have to concede that the high speed rating thing concerns me on bias plys. Since I only "bury" the tach on rare occasions, and for very short bursts, I guess I am ok.
However, I think back to former days, like when I had my tripower GTO in '66 and was street racing a Mustang. My speedo only went to 120 and the needle got well past that, and I was running on redlines. Of course, those were hi tech at the time.

I think Faith left the building....
You didn't expect her to take all this with blind faith, did you?
No.
I have faith in Faith....
After all the sniping she may have lost faith............let's hope that charity will prevail.
Faith and begorra, this thread has taken a turn.
Do you know Charity, Uncle Bob??? Heck of a nice girl, now if she'd just shed a few pounds!!!!!!Quote:

What? You don't have much faith in hope? That's not very charitable of you!:whacked:
Back in '65 I was heading back to Pendleton on I-5 in the coupe with a couple of buddies at about 1 in the morning and one of them asked how fast it would go. I said I didn't know so lets find out. At that time it was just two lanes in each direction and there was a little dogleg just before you got to San Juan Capistrano. I mashed the pedal to the floor and the last time I looked my trusty 160 mph S/W speedo was bouncing between 125 and 135. We entered the dogleg in the left lane and exited in the right lane and I didn't move the steering wheel. Needless to say it scared the crap out of me and I never tried that again. I was running 550/15's up front and 815/15's out back and of course they were bias ply. It's a wonder that I didn't kill myself or others in that car. :HMMM:Quote:

What is a bias tire?
Where can I buy one?
Will they make my car more cooler?
Will they fit on my Rambler?
