M & H front skinny's on my '32 for the street???

.....Hi Everyone, Will these M & H skinny's work on the street on my '32??? They are Dot approved, 3 1/2" tread, 5 1/2" section width, 21.9" tall.... I was thinking of these on ET III 10 spoke wheels {fully polished}. Will it handle & brake ok with these??? Thanks, Bill

Not a lot of tire surface contact for the street, probably be easy to get some push in the front end with them.... Hard to beat the look, though... Guess it depends on how much comprimise you want to make in looks v handling....

Don't know about the tires, but those wheels are my absolute favorites, hands down. I almost bit the bullet and bought them for my T, but then I would have to do some complimentary wheels on the rear, and I already have my set up in place.

IMO, they really nailed the look of the old 12 spokes, and now with brake capability. I envy you.

Just noticed the 21 inch tall specs. That might be too short on the front of a '32 to look good. Even the 5:60's I am running (VW size) are 26. The '32 might need a taller tire to look proportionate up there.

I don't think I would run the front runners on anything on the street. They don't have the sidewalls or grip. I thought about the same setup (wheels) you are looking to use and agree that are agreat combo. I bought some Kelley-Springfield 165-15 for the front of my '32 and look like the ols Perellies (? sp) that the racers used to use on the front and that gives the "old" style racer look imho. I wouldn't like to see you or anyone else crash a car they have worked years on for a look.

.....Thanks for the advice, I'm going to go for the 10 spoke wheels for sure but will do some thinking on the tires. Everyone is right, the safety issue is a very real thing. It won't stop/handle as well. BUT I sure do like the 'look' ;) ..... Thanks, Bill

I agree, I think it would look better with taller tires. I used Goodyear Frontrunners 26" (I know, not good side walls, I will make sure it's going straight before I lean on it) and no drifting competitions.
