I got an Outlaw '32 3W body from Yogi's three years ago, and that body is awesome. It took very little block sanding to get it ready for paint, and the workmanship throughout is excellent. No complaints, and their customer service is second to none. If you buy from Yogi, he will give you a good discount. Yes, the extra money is definitely worth it. You will have to spend less at the body shop so the money will even out in the long run.
Two buddies of mine have had Outlaw '33/4's. The two of them together used less than a cup of filler to get the bodies smooth enough to put first class paint jobs on them. They're worth the extra up front cost in reduced prep time and $.
You get what you pay for. In the case of companies like Outlaw and Westcott, you're getting the best!!!!!
.....I'm getting my '32 from Redneck and there quality is also outstanding. Customer service is also second to none..... bill
I'll trade my Gibbon for an Outlaw or Redneck any day . . . straight up
Henry....is the laughing smiley face there because you got to use the words "gibbon" and "straight" in the same sentence?...a first for sure
:whacked: I'll bet you would, Jack.. If you find the guy, let him know I have 4 Merc's I'd like to trade, too!!!! Then we can tag team him and sell him some ocean front property in Colorado.......Quote:

Actually, the body is pretty straight. It's all the details that are farkeled up (for you old-timers, that's a term commonly used by Sparkle Farkel)Quote:

For example, take a look at how nicely the grille is finished between those 35 stainless steel ribs. Can you imagine how long it's going to take to fix that? Hours of filing and finishing 74 slots narrower than your finger width - then getting the 'glass off of all the ribs that they left on there?

Nice, Huh?
That's ugly Jack...sry.
Note how well the window garnish hides the outside door shell and the electric window channel.

. . . and how nicely the underside of the hood is finished. Ain't raw glass nice? That'll take a minute too.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the input.
That leaves a lot to be desired, it's just flat fugly.
dosn't leave much to wonder on why gibbon went out.
Outlaw makes a great body.... Redneck also are not bad but I think here are some issues with door fit. I have seen them all checked them all and decided to go with this company.

VERY VERY straight....less than a cup of plastci and I feel my car is one of the straightest cars you will find bar none.... not bragging just I am very picky. My cars I do drive but they are built to show and are shown with a leading company in the automotive finishing field. Only the best will do
....hummm, I wonder if the 'door fit' issue is serious enough for me to trade my Redneck for ocean front land in Colorada??? billQuote:

They are a small operations that helps keep cost down and I am more than pleased with what I got.
I hope to see some of you guys at shows this year and get feedback of what you all think.
If anybody is at any of the larger shows and the Meguiars rigs ar e there stop by and say hi. The car will be at most street rod shows on the east coast and mid-west. Even if the car is not there I might be so stop and say hi.
I did not get a full roller just the body and a plain frame. I was able to get many of the other items through vendors or at cost.
I am NOT trying to say there are not others out there with a quality product just bringing another to the table.
As far as the door fit issue on Rednecks.... I can only speak to the 2 that friends have
Will you be at the Charllotte N.C. show next week?
No we wont.... if anyone is there it will be a local rep.
NSRA in OK is where most of us will be or in Philly
I'm not sure about outlaw bodies being I have not purchased one, but I can say for sure do not buy a Bear fiberglass body. I recently finished my 32 which was the complete Bear kit ( fenders , hood, grill shell , and body ) The fenders were complete junk, warped , wrong shape ect. We had to pie cut them and reglass them just to sit on the frame. I ended up throwing them to the side and buying a set of Brookville steel fenders which fit the TCI frame perfectly right out of the box. When it came to "service" Bear fiberglass basically told me to go pound salt. They blamed TCI's frame for being off which I know is not true. Thoroughly unsatisfied am I. The list of problems we had is too long to get into. I have heard Outlaws are good , and I did look at a 34 outlaw body the other day and I can say I was impressed. It was a 12 year old body , and the doors latches were so realistic I was fooled into thinking it was a steel body. Attaching a pic of my car, hood sides are in the works. The bear hoodsides that came with the car are warped and an inch too short so I had to get steel ones made.
:whacked: **) :HMMM:
Huh? What does that mean?Quote:

Nope not about you-the guy deleted his post. He was just trying to aggitate as some people do , that never have anything good to say. That was his 1st post.Oh and--nice 32! can I have it?
Ok, I mis understood....Sure you can have it for the 75 K Canadian funds I have in it , then I'll go build my chopped and channeled 28-31 tudor with the lake headers and coker wide whites I've been thinking about :)
prochevelle used your post on other sites trying to stir up stuff. my guess he's with another body mfg. we dumped him on sr.com since his first and only post was to start trouble. same here. he was the reason for the troll alert. nice deuce guy.
I understand, I was not trying to stir up trouble, I just don't want any other prospective buyers to get stuck with a substandard product and lack of support, without being informed first. Maybe all fiberglass cars have major issues, but it would surprise me if they all needed that much work to straighten out.I'm not talking about waves in the glass, these were fitment issues .
