Right on! Most guys building rods end up paying for big bucks for shipping,looks like thats money you will save.I have to agree with Rum Rumm on the Glide seat foam. I bought my seat with, but am using a "mexican blanket" for a couple "shake down years" then will change out the foam. And will also be running with a base coat for a few years til momma forgets how much we have spent on it and lets me get interior done and also painted.You sound like you have thought this through and also come across as pretty resoucefull so all I can say is GO FOR IT
