I am building a 32 coupe with air. I have a walker radiator with a/c condenser. I am not necessarily interested in high tech. Why should I pay the extra bucks for electric fan and shroud versus the fan clutch and a new fan??????

If you can fit a clutch fan in that car, by all means you can go for it.
From my experience, fitting a clutch fan in a 106" '32 with a condenser is a challenge to say the least. If you are building new, you can design around these components.
That said, we run an electric fan with shroud on most or our stuff. They work great, cool great, simple, consume less space, slight performance gain, etc, etc.
I have a Spal 16" S blade electric fan that works great. Walker 4 row radiator, Vintage Air, Chevy 350/400 hp motor. Never gets over 210 degrees in 110 degree weather at a stop, and cruises at 190 degrees. I barely got the electric fan to fit in my 32. Good luck with a fan and clutch.
Here's my 32 with BBC, Spal 16" fan.
Don't think a clutched fan would fit in there. Even if somehow it did they are inefficient and IMO quite ugly. However you would have something pretty unique. I've seen quite a few 32's now and have never seen a mechanical fan; there are many more experienced deuce owners here than I though.
Finally unless you are building a bare bones Ratter you are going to be spending some dinero. The fan ain't gonna bust you?!

Doesn't look like you would have room for anything else. Housebound for awhile yet and just considering some options for my roadster, should I ever get around to doing some work on it...... The work on your car is absolutely gorgeous, Kitz!!! Bound to make all of us step up the build quality on our own projects.... Thanks
Dave thanks for the kind words. Means a lot to me coming from you! I only hope she finishes half as nice as what I've seen from the likes of yourself, Bob, rocknrod, Bibs, and the list goes on and on .............
Regards, Kitz
I seriously doubt your car would have to take a back seat to anyone's !!!!!!
Ya.....what he said!Quote:

Top notch Kitz!
you guys were right the clutch fan will not fit. however I am considering just running a fan like everyone did in the 50's 60's etc.
The only problem with that is "everyone" was not running A/C in the "50's 60's etc."
....Wayne at Redneck Street Rods who is building my '32 for me told me that there is NO way I'm going to get a mechanical fan in there. That there is barely enough room for an electric fan..... bill
ps, Your car looks FANTASTIC ;)
