I just got a 74 Nova SS out of a barn, It had been there about 13 years and got it running. I started it on 30 wt oil and had no noises. I changed the oil again to 10 40 and started having lifter noise. I put about a half quart of atf in the engine but still get the noise. Will this cause problems with the cam lobes? Also I ran the suffix code on the block and it comes back as an LS9 truck block, Any one kny info on this block? Would it make a good starting point for a performance build up?
