wiped out lobe.....or broken camshaft...
ok disaster struck ,went 6.03 sat nite with NO spray,looking for mid 5 ,s this sat..nostalgia race.big gathering..i'm super pissed,drove truck to store for a few things 1/2 mile away coming up hill..bang..i heard a rocker explode.shut er down ,towed er home.opened left valve cover. broken rocker arm....bent push rod..pulled push rod out ....cleaned out all head area with wet vac....installed push rod and damn she drops ...holy shit.not all the way but close,i figure i wiped a lobe or broke the cam ...what you guys think..damn it to he#$!.........all seem to be working.must be a lobe....ideas?lifter?

Got hydraulic lifters? Might have a collapsed one. Got any metal filings in the pan?

probably kicked a lifter out after the push rod bent, but something caused the pushrod to bend. sounds like you was trying to hard for that mid 5 sat. night. need to check comp. to see if you have bent a valve. most of the time when you wipe a cam lobe it dont brake up a lot of stuff. pull the intake and check. good luck. :eek:
