If the engine is really stock it's a 265 not a 283, the 283 wasn't available until '57. The 327 is 1/4 in longer stroke and 1/4 in bigger bore than a 283.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
