Welllllllll if it came out from behind the starter I would bet thats where it is, There will be 2 to 3 freeze plugs on both sides of the block(behind the starter & the engine mounts), If 1 is leaking the rest of em are rotted out and will be leaking soon, there are also some freeze plugs on the back of the block behind the bell housing.
Pull the sarter if thats where its leaking use a drift and a hammer and knock the plug into the block then use some pliers to pull it out of the hole,to install the new plug I use a socket that will fit snug inside the plug and drive it into the hole.
It's usually a pretty tuff chore with the engine in the car.
Lawndog,
HWORREL is right, where there is one you can usually bet there are more to come.
The only temp fix that I know of is go to your local parts store and get a expanding rubber/metal freeze plug with a nut attached to the outside to tighten up after you insert it in the freeze plug hole, this of course is after you knock the old plug out, keep in mind this will be temp only... at some point you will have to bite the bullet and R&R all the plugs.
Good luck
:)
