Hi Lads,
I just tested my ignition coil, because I thought I might do so, never a bad thing to do :-)
I have a stock HEI dizzy with the coil in the cap.
The Ohmmeter readings are:
TACH-BAT: 0.6 Ohms
MID-CENT: 8.4 kOhms
TACH-CENT: infinite
MID is the middle connector of the inside set in the cap, CENT is the center electrode inside the cap (the one touching the rotor).
Is that OK?
And the little sprung contact, that connects the middle of the underside of the coil to the roter, that has a resistance of 5 kOhms. Should it have that? Shouldn't it have next to no resistance at all? or what should the overall resistance be when measuring from inside the cap to the MID electrode?
