Terrible start up
I have a 350 bored .030 over with intake, mild cam, headers, exaust, holley carb, ported and polished 2.02 heads, 10.1 compression, msd ignition, roller rockers, and everything machined and balanced. There are no problems starting the car, but if you try to move it shudders terribly and if you let off, it will idle down and stall. If you give it a little more gas, it will backfire from carb if to lean, and from exaust if to rich, and instantly die either way. I just readjusted the rockers but I know they are done correctly. People are telling me either valves or idle mixture screws but I have played with both to much for them to never be right. Anybody have any ideas?

How does it idle? Does it idle fine until you either kick the throttle or put it in gear, and what type tranny, manual or auto? It only dies after you try to move it? My question is does it idle for a while fine, or are you trying to move it too quickly after startup. I have one thought at the moment and it is telling me some sort of fuel delivery problem. When it calls for more it dies. Oddur den dat I would need more info to diagnose...or someone else can help ya

This is only a idea but when you installed your cam did you degree it ? It could be retarded . Also Street's has a good point maybe your valves spring's are weak . Sometime's rather than replacing the spring's some machine shop's shim them to get the correct height . It's worth checking into. THis happened to me and I broke some of them when I reved it up.
