It sounds like a timing issue. Are you set at 8 degrees before TDC at idle with vacuum advance disconnected?

My bad, yes, it is a gear drive set. And the timing tab is long gone, didn’t think to put one back on when I was doing it, but I didn’t appear to have any timing issues prior to this, as the engine ran fine before the timing chain jumped
