Why Lifter clack?
Hello guy's this is on a 350 vortec roller lifter engine. I was trying to diagnose a miss and this is something I have not come across before hoping someone can give me the answer. It might be that the lifters need to be readjusted. Here's the dilemma, engine running, if I pull the plug wire off #1,( I haven't checked all of the others yet) a lifter starts to clack, put the plug wire back on it goes away. Anyone came across this before.Last edited by jimbos56; 09-09-2019 at 04:56 PM.

Got it figured out, it was the plug wire arching, sounded like a lifter clack.

I'm not alone!
I'd thought I was the only one that wasted hours barking up the wrong tree!
