Yep, 283 block (3.875" bore) with 327 crank (3.25" stroke) and rated from 130 to 200 hp, depending on the build...... "OOO" does not show up anywhere that I can find. Are you sure about the letters? I also thought it might be DDD, but there is no such letter series used.

11B128786 is a partial VIN of the car or truck which the motor was originally installed in at the factory, sometime between 1979 and 1983. It could be the original motor for your C10. Check the VIN plate.

Yes sorry I am aware that it is a 307 not 327 that was a typo. It is not the original engine to the truck it was a 4.1 straight six originally I have the owners manual with the Vin correct information it was a 3spd on column and is now a 4 on the floor. I am 100% sure of the numbers and that's why im so confused the 000 doesn't match any suffix codes I have found. Maybe a crate engine but then why the vin stamp?

Update: I believe the engine tag may actually say T1222ccc meaning it would be a 1971 which also corresponds with the partial Vin. Does anyone know what model this may be out of

Could have been an A(Chevelle, Pontiac or Olds mid-size), F(Camero or Firebird), or X(C/K Trucks) or a Monte - so it could have come from virtually any 1971 GM model car.

That's what I was leaning towards but the other piece of info that I have is that it is paired to a four speed Borg Warner aluminum cased transmission which supposedly came from the same vehicle
