yes...but the 327 crank is a step down im thinking add more cubes by getting a bigger stroke. whats the biggest stroke...for the 350
thanks though
Chevy produced a crank between 1970 - 80 with a 3.48-in. stroke. Thats the largest sroke I've found. I have the part # if you're interested. Also, I MIGHT have that very crank (if memory serves me correctly).
the 400 crank has a 3.75 stroke....so far so good...can anything bigger fit...need more cubes than that on the small block:D
you could always build a 472 "BIG DAWG" Small block.
Block = 9.325"" deck
4.215" stroke
6.125" Rods
Just reading about it in the latest issue of Chevy High Performance.
cool thanks
i just got done reading but apparently with a 4" stroke a 4.25" bore and a special head gasket to fit...you got yourself a 454 small block...all the stuff is readily made...

It's built by Shafiroff'Quote:

The small block V8 has a deck height (centerline of crankshaft to cylinder deck measured along the centerline of the bore) of 9.025"
Brodix M2's 23 Dergree
Dart Intake
Callies 4.25" Crank
Lunati Rods
JE Pistons 10:1
Dart Iron Eagle Block 9.325" deck
Article says the block is a spread-pan design so the 4.25" stroke crank will clear. and the cam is moved up in the block so the rods will clear the cam
Barry Grant King Demon 1,095-cfm
The So called standard engine 595 H.P. $8,995.00
The Big DAWG cranks out 675 H.P. /639 Lbs. Tq. @ 4,600 RPM $12,995.00
Runs on pump gas. Dynoed and ready to install.
You could get 675 h.p. out of a .... say.... 468 BBC for less. Parts would be more readily available too.
Or the "Z" HE HE He:LOL:  :LOL:Quote:

R U sayin' itz' hard to C around a huffer???
Hey Pro, that thing sure is radical. Gotta be a blast to drive. As far as the motor stuff goes, there is still no replacement for displacement. There are some really nice kits out to do the big blocks and come up with some very respectable performance for a decent price.
this is all good and fun...but it still brings me back to the original question...whats the biggest stroke you can put in a stock 350 4bolt block, without having to modify anything except getting the actual crank to do it
383 stroker is the most common. 391 that techinspector1 posted is the biggest displacement 350 block (Factory block) I'ver heard of.Quote:
