    Small block I'd help

     



    Hello bought a 1949 ford pick up has camaro front clip and sbc and t350 trans I have searched casting numbers and stamped numbers and even more confused. Vin stamped number 19J298780 engine stamped number next to it is V0707HV casting number 3970010 I got 3 different possibilities 302,327 and 350 it is in truck and runs great any idea how to identify without tearing it down? I am gonna drop a big block in it want to know what I am selling lol thanks.

    Welcome to CHR!

    Key is V0707HV. V is the Flint plant, 07 is July, 07 it the seventh day and HV was only used in one year (1965) and one application 327CI hydraulic lifer, high performance with a manual transmission in a Corvette.

    I'm assuming that the link you provided is to a Chevelle site is why there is no mention of the sbc 400., correct?

    I wasn't looking for any 400 info---just a site with good info about the shape of the crank flanges for the different strokes---------this was the easiest to copy/paste on this site--the really super one filled the whole reply box so I went with this one-------if you want the shape of the 400 I'll get it for you------------

    I was just curious, Jerry. It'd be easy to tell if the dampner was still attached.
