    383 assembly kit

Has anyone bought a balanced 383 rotating assembly off of ebay and had no problems with the balancing?

Buying anything off of anywhere from an unknown source sure as heck wouldn't be anything I'd do!!! At least with a well-known mail order place you've have some recourse if the parts came and turned out to be junk!!!! An eBay store may or may not be there next week to do anything about it! Saving a few bucks is good, but gambling on the quality of parts from an unknown source just isn't my cup of tea!!!!

It is my opinion that most all the fellows on this forum are hot rodders and as such, understand that there is no guarantee from anyone that is worth the paper it is printed on when buying from an unknown and unproven source. I think that most of us would rather step up to the plate and pay the money to purchase from a reputable source that could and would back up their doing business with a good history of treating their customers right. As for me personally, I would begin by getting on the phone with the supplier and finding out whether the assembly is internally or externally balanced and within what range of weight the whole mess is balanced to. Further, when dealing with an ebay supplier, I might reserve the $250 that it would cost to balance the assembly and deduct that from the price of the assembly and see if it's still a good deal. Trust Nobody.
