starting out need advice 350 smalll block c/k1500

Do I recntly decided to start building up my first car / truck 11994 c\k1500 Iv had a few cars that iv built up but where already fast to start with ik the basic heads carbs cam intake tunes but I wanted to be in the low 13 if possible and I dont that stuff willl get me to 14 flat lol so what else can I do im not sure with geara in it now I beleave a 3:30 or sm close too it so im pllaning of 3:73 but what else do I need im cluelless when. It comes to guys tallking about changing the pistons boreing it out and so on

Welcome aboard Chrisrt, there is a lot of difference between a "C" model and a "K" model pickup, especially the weight! so getting a 4 wheel drive to go 13's will cost a bunch more money than the comparable "C" model 2 wheel drive.

You really need to decide what you want the vehicle to do, if you're just cruisin' or perhaps drag racin' on the weekends... then back and forth to work during the week.. those things all matter as you'll need to compromise between the tasks.

Don't let me discourage you! I'd rather have you asking yourself what it is you want/need for this vehicle to do rather than tossin' money at it and never being pleased with the result(s). HTH..

For around 1500 you can do something like an Edelbrock package, with the performer intake, carb, cam and then add headers.

Boring a motor and new pistons alone won't give you as much benefit as the above will..

Then you're going to need to improve the brakes. Going faster isn't any fun at all if you can't stop it when you need / want to!
