New Cam, Intake, Heads, Lifters ETC....Bad sewing machine sound!

Hello, first time to the forum. I have a ZZ4 short block that was bored .030 and is fresh. I just finished putting together the top end, parts list included:

Edelbrock 2097 Power Package :

E Tech 170 Heads
Air Gap Intake 350-7516
Rollin Thunder Cam 2204

and went with the Edelbrock Rockers, Lifters and Pushrods (recommended by their tech line)
Rockers EDL77770 (could these be the wrong rockers for the engine set up? Edelbrock tech guy shot this number off quick, but it doesn't match up on Summit to the rest of my motor)
Lifters EDL97384
Pushrods 9653

All went together well, I adjusted the rockers the proper way, not my first time adjusting hydraulic lifters but am getting a horrible sewing machine sound from the top end when running. Runs ok, still needs to be timed but the sound is awful. Oil pressure on my dash gauge is showing high, 60 psi. I took the valve covers off and ran it expecting to get an oil shower (I've never run a motor with the VC's off).

When I ran it with the VC's off it there was a lot less oil mess then I thought there would be. Near idle it there wasn't a lot of oil, when I'd rev it, would get small amounts of spray out the top of the rockers but still no major mess.

I double checked the valve adjustment, it seems right on if not a little tight. Loose would cause the sewing machine sound right? Not tight? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Suck it up and go back to basics....do the re-adjust following this tutorial.....

Thanks for the advice. I went back through the rockers, blew out the push rods (may have gone too heavy on the assembly lube). Readjusted and 90% of the racket is gone.

. Can prolly touch each rocker arm with finger tip with engine idling and feel which ones are clicking...

A friend of mine had a similar problem,on a small block chevy,I asked him some of the standard questions .Did you use break in oil or an additive,did you preload the lifters and he said ,what?.And then I knew that he had hyper extended the lifters and he still ran the engine so he proceeded to actually break the keepers on 6 of them and the pieces went everywhere and blew the engine.You didn't sound like that type of person but thought I'd chime in anyway.
