Link - Assuming you have rockers with adjustors as opposed to stock stamped steel - http://www.clubhotrod.com/chevy-smal...0-rockers.html
Sorry Stamped steel, rockers
Stamped steel rockers adjust same as any other as far as lifter/pushrod is concerned. before doing the adjustments i like to run the engine and get pressure into the lifters so that they should all be consistant with each other. I like techinspectors suggestion to engage the pushrod up & down until contact is made and then tighten. That should give you good postive control.
Yeah, Tech's Crankshaft Coalition article gives you the stock stamped steel approach, and like it points out another pair of hands can be helpful if you're not confident in what you're doing. One guy holding the rocker down tight on the valve, and then you lifting the pushrod and adjusting the nut. Holding the rocker down is not mandatory, but takes away some of the doubt.
The easy way to do it with the firing order!! Spark plugs out! Forget turning the crank!! use A socket on the alternator and push down on the belt when turning it!!!!

Exhaust Valve Adjustment: ENGINE OFF!
You will notice that this is the same procedure and sequence as the intake valves listed above. Only now you are adjusting ONLY the exhaust valves the same way.
