Sorry, I just noticed that your thread title says "Dieseling", so I should have known. Is your carb one of the newer "Thunder" series that eliminated the power valve? If not, you need to check it because any little back fire can rupture the power valve diaphragm, and you say you had a big "Pop". It's worth checking to know it's OK.
