Consider that if the fuel pump is the original it will have a diaphragm that is not compatible with ethanol blend fuel. A rebuilt pump is not expensive, and it's a lot better to change it and know it's OK than to wait and have it start spewing gas through the vent at midnight in some podunk town where nothing's open - ask me how I know....

We even like pics of rubber particles and disintegrated diaphrams mixed in with that wonderful Ethanol - - - - ahhhhhh, I love the smell of Gooberment regulations in the morning :CRY::LOL:
Ethanol, that wonderful green fuel, will do amazing things to old rubber such as breaking it down into small pieces that will totally clog a fuel system. I once spent time on an I 44 off ramp partially rebuilding a 650 DP because of it's toxic characteristics.
Haha. I will be sure to post some pictures, and keep you in the loop on the progress. However, It is final´s week (for us college students) so my baby will have to sit till this weekend before she gets all the attention in the world!

Just wanted to give ya´ll a quick update. I changed the fuel pump, and all of the old rubber fuel lines. It started right up and kept running. It seems to choke on full throttle though (I´m guessing vaccum leak) and so I have not bothered to adjust the idle yet (idles pretty high, takes her a few coughs before she finally turns off the engine).
ps. I tried posting a few pics, but it seems the forum only allows very small sizes. Ill probably give it another try later.
Try reducing your picture file size to nominal 680x1024 for optimum screen size, or smaller if you want.Quote:
