I have a 1970 Glastron jet boat with a 327 in it it responded really well when I installed a Edelbrock Performer and a Holley 600 C.F.M. carb the carb has vacuam secondaries and center bowls also vent baffles . Next I am going to address the ignition . Write back please,good luck.
